New father Maverick Viñales (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) hit the ground running at the Gran Premio d’Italia Oakley after topping FP1 with a 1:46.593, the Spaniard led Johann Zarco (Pramac Racing) by 0.209s. After an early off-track excursion, Team Suzuki Ecstar’s Alex Rins rounded out the top three.
