The Horizon V2 is Ducati’s high-end touring helmet, combining comfort and practicality, style and safety, in a modular package that ensures a flexible solution for any ride.
Part of the 2022 apparel collection, Ducati Horizon V2 has graphics designed by Drudi Performance exclusively for Ducati. The helmet transforms from a full-face helmet to a ‘jet’ (Ducati’s words not mine..), helmet by lifting the chin guard.
The outer shell is made of ‘Ultra’ Carbon material combined with aramid and glass fibres, which give the helmet strength and lightness. The Carbon Fitting internal padding with thermoregulating active carbon filaments ensure comfort, while safety is care of the expanded polystyrene of the inner shell to absorb and disperse kinetic energy in the event of an impact.
The Eyewear Adaptive system allows you to wear the Ultrawide goggles and visor which, with its large surface, offers a large range of visibility to the rider. The included sun visor grants protection from UV rays – up to 400 nm and can be easily disassembled for maintenance and cleaning.
The Horizon V2 helmet is designed and approved for integration with the N-Com B 902X Intercom system to ensure connectivity and this system allows you to manage the mobile phone and its answering, hanging up and last-number redialling functions via Bluetooth, with voice commands and automatic switching between intercom and phone.
The intercom system is equipped with a Smart Conference function for group communications and for sharing music with both the passenger, and/or another motorcycle when travelling in company.
In the Ducati Apparel collection there is an entire line dedicated to touring include options like the Tour C4 and Atacama C2 jacket and trouser outfits. Both are designed by Aldo Drudi and produced by Ducati following the criteria of lightness, strength and usability.
The Horizon V2 helmet and all the items that make up the Ducati Apparel collection are available at the dealer network of the Borgo Panigale company and on Shop.Ducati.com, with Australian pricing set at $1030.55 + GST (RRP) with availability in April, 2022.

Sidi Crossfire 3 SRS Limited Edition in Grey/Black
“More than meets the eye” is the Transformers’ motto – sci-fi machines created in 1984 – and perfectly embodies the spirit of the Crossfire 3 SRS boots, with a new limited edition version arriving.
They appear to be normal motorbike boots, however once on the run they can be completely transformed, revealing the incredible technical solutions developed to meet the most demanding of riding and protection requirements.
Inspired by the suggestion of the man-machine relationship, Sidi now launches the new limited version, where the black details meet ash grey upper and promises great adventures.
Sidi Crossfire 3 SRS features
The Sidi Crossfire 3 SRS starts with the Hyper Extension Block, which is crucial for safeguarding the rider’s ankle and tendons, and continuing with the Flex System, which acts on the flexibility of the boot.
The Adjustable Calf System regulates the opening of the boot, allowing the cuff to be widened or narrowed by means of simple adjustments to guarantee an absolutely comfortable fit.
A replaceable boot guard plate, made of PU with a moulded rubber insert, is responsible for protecting the leg from the heat of the engine. It is inserted inside the boot cuff and helps to extend the life of the boot by limiting wear.
Finally, the removable and replaceable Dovetail Sole SRS has been chosen to complete the boot and it is also available in an enduro version. This component is made with the aim of ensuring maximum safety and comfort while guaranteeing perfect grip on both the bike and the ground.
Metzeler have announced the fourth generation of the Tourance family, the Tourance Next 2 – is on the way and will join the Metzeler adventure range next year alongside a new Karoo 4 – a tyre designed to equip the latest generation adventure motorcycles.
Metzeler Tourance Next 2
According to Metzeler the main benefits of the Tourance Next 2 are:
Accurate control at any lean angle, leading to an agile and neutral behaviour of the motorcycle thanks to the radial structure with zero degrees steel belt and Interact technology;
Top response in wet and braking conditions. The innovative formulation of the compounds with liquid polymers and their arrangement, which uses Metzeler Hyperbase technology, make Tourance Next 2 the new reference tyre in terms of braking and wet performance, guaranteeing braking distances 1.5m shorter than its predecessor Tourance Next[1];
Immediate and lasting performance. The evolution of the legendary Tourance Next has been enhanced by new compounds and the Metzeler Dymatec technology applied to the tread pattern. This involves a particular design methodology to preserve the functional geometries of the grooves and consequently the tyre performance over time;
Comfort and safety even when fully loaded. The combination of tread pattern, structures and adaptive compounds make the motorcycle extremely comfortable and manageable, regardless of the presence of a passenger or luggage.
Metzeler Tourance Next 2 tread pattern
Tourance Next 2 features tread pattern traits of the pi – π – which in addition to being distinctive of the Metzeler brand, also has a specific functional reason.
The longitudinal grooves in the central part of the tread, which make up the upper part of the pi, are interrupted by other grooves in order to ensure greater stability of the compound and consequently a uniform wear. Likewise, these grooves improve lateral thrust for high-end off-road performance.
The patented Dymatec technology has been applied to the tread pattern, which involves a design methodology specifically designed to preserve the functional geometries of the compound blocks and consequently tyre performance over time. Thanks to Dymatec, Dynamic Mould Angle Technology, the position of the groove along the tread width, and consequently the different lean angle in which it is involved, determines the specific angle of its the walls, in order to better manage the dynamic stresses typical of on/off riding and ensure maximum wear uniformity.
Another important feature of the front tyre is the irregular repetition of the tread pattern (Multi-Pitch Knob Layout), a technology that places blocks of compound of different sizes in contact with the asphalt, to ensure smooth rolling and a high acoustic comfort level.
Metzeler Tourance Next 2 tread compound
On the front, Metzeler introduces an innovative high-silica compound (85%) containing functionalized polymers (SBR) which enhance its wet grip characteristics and stability, allowing a reduction of the braking distance by more than 10%[2] and full stability under different load conditions.
As for the Tourance Next 2 rear sizes, the central strip replicates the same compound as the front, while the shoulder areas are full-silica and formulated for wet performance and grip while leaning. Some sizes feature the arrangement of the tread compounds according to the Cap&Base scheme, while others use the patented Hyperbase formula.
According to the Cap&Base scheme, the shoulder areas in soft compound, which ensure grip when cornering, are layered on a harder compound base that ensures consistency in performance and thermal balance.
With the Hyperbase scheme, both shoulder areas and the central compound strip are supported by a base formulated with a specific full-carbon-black compound, oriented towards dynamic and thermal stability.
Tourance Next 2 range
The new Tourance Next 2 will progressively be available in the following sizes:

Metzeler Karoo 4
Successor of the award-winning Karoo 3, the Karoo 4 represents the latest generation of the Metzeler product family designed for on/off use, a tyre intended for the equipment of adventure and maxi enduro motorcycles that allows motorcyclists to go adventouring.
Karoo 4 features a patented tread pattern, which raises the tyre’s all-round performance levels on both asphalt and on different types of off-road surfaces. As for the road sector, the engineers of the blue elephant brand have worked to improve in particular the overall handling and the behaviour in the wet, developing a tread pattern that allows you to safely face certain lean angles even on wet asphalt. In the off-road field, Karoo 4 increases the off-road performance level, especially on soft surfaces, such as sand, mud and clay.
The Karoo 4 range
Karoo 4 will progressively be available in the following sizes starting from March 2022:
Looking for high levels of protection, with a touring orientated airbag jacket? Look no further than the Helite Touring 2 Airbag Jacket, which has been recently updated and following an activation simply needs a new cartridge to be ready to go once again.
The recently improved and updated design of the Helite motorcycle adventure jacket was designed from the ground up and uses CE certified armours to protect the shoulders, elbows and the spine but most importantly, the Helite jacket also incorporates a CE certified airbag system.
In the event of an accident, when the rider is thrown from the motorcycle, the airbag jacket instantly inflates (within 100 milliseconds) to protect the rider’s upper body. The activation is simple and automatic. A coiled wire attaches the motorcycle to the airbag jacket. If the rider is abnormally separated from the motorcycle, the coiled wire triggers the release of cO2 gas to inflate the air cushions.
The inflated jacket protects vulnerable parts of the upper body to prevent from serious injuries. After a few seconds the jacket deflates automatically. Once the jacket is deflated, a new cartridge can be installed and the jacket is ready to be reused.
The Touring 2 jacket Helite is an amazing jacket that will stand in all weather condition, being windproof and waterproof, and provide you the best protection. It has a removable central liner to suit better every season. The jacket has many pocket option so that you can have a hand on everything you bring along.

For riders who don’t want to invest in a full independent navigation system, with all the ensuing costs, BMW have released the ConnectedRide Cradle, designed to mount a variety of smartphones and offering a host of extra features.
The ConnectedRide Cradle serves not only as a simple cradle but also offers a navigation map and vehicle data such as lean angle, acceleration, deceleration and much more can be displayed via the BMW Motorrad Connected App using the Multi-Controller.
Thanks to individually adjustable side clamps, the ConnectedRide Cradle is suitable for many different smartphone sizes and charges the smartphone inductively according to the Qi standard with a maximum of 7.5W or wired via a USB-C connection with a maximum of 7.5W (1.5A at 5V). An LED charging indicator (can be switched off) provides information about the phone’s charging status.
For security, the ConnectedRide Cradle can be locked to the motorcycle’s holder, if the holder supports this.
The ConnectedRide Cradle can also be used on older BMW Motorrad models (e.g. BMW R 1200 GS K50) and fits all BMW Motorrad models equipped with the optional equipment “Preparation for navigation system (option 272)” – as well as models equipped with Multi-Controller and the option of retrofitting the navigation preparation via the BMW Motorrad workshop system (except R 1200 RT, R 1250 RT, K 1600 models).
On older motorcycles without a TFT instrument cluster, operation is possible via the control element of the “Preparation for navigation unit SA 272”. The prerequisite for displaying vehicle data is “On-board computer Pro (option 221)”. The ConnectedRide Cradle cannot be used with the Navigator 4-Button Mount Cradle.
In order to be able to fully use the functions described, the BMW Motorrad Connected App version 4.0 or higher must be used. BMW Motorrad recommends that you always install the latest updates to ensure proper functioning.
A Bluetooth connection is required to enable the app to be controlled via the motorcycle’s navigation preparation control element. The smartphone must be equipped with Bluetooth Low Energy version 4.2 at least in order to comply with the security requirements (LE Secure Connections) for the connection. Smartphones with older Bluetooth versions are therefore not supported.
Bluetooth pairing takes place within the BMW Motorrad Connected App and is only required once during initial setup.
The following smartphones fit in the ConnectedRide Cradle:
All mobile phones with the following dimensions:
Minimum 130,1×65, 5×6.9mm; maximum 162.5×78,1×8.8mm.
