Kymco DT X360 adventure styled scooter arrives in Australia

Kymco DT X360

Kymco are getting adventurous in 2022, with the introduction of their DT X360 adventure crossover scooter to Australia.

Kymco DT X360 Scooter

Based on the Downtown 350i platform, Kymco say the DT X360 is capable of light off-road terrain thanks to its dual-purpose tyres. Other features on the DT X360 include the wider handlebar to assist in maximising leverage while the higher seating position (800mm) maximises rider visibility.

Kymco DT X360 Scooter

Compared to the Downtown 350i, the DT X360 also has a shorter wheelbase and isn’t as high or long. Other noteworthy features include traction control, keyless ignition, all-LED lighting, a full-colour LCD digital screen and two USB ports.

Kymco DT X360 Scooter

Underseat storage is roomy as well: enough to accommodate at least two helmets, and the retail price for the DT X360 is $8790 plus on-road costs, available in an orange and black livery.

Kymco DT X360 Scooter

The DT X360 produces power and torque figures of 28.4 hp (21.2 kW) and 30 Nm from the punchy 321 cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, four-valve single-cylinder engine. There’s an effective range of about 300km between fuel stops, care of a 12.5 litre tank.

Michael Poynton – Director of Kymco Australia

“There’s been plenty of interest around the DT X360, and for good reason with its wider remit than your normal scooter, and with all that outstanding Downtown DNA, the foundations for an excellent scooter are already there – but this time with the ability to take on a wider variety of terrain. Kymco’s engineering prowess is exceptional – and recently endorsed by Harley-Davidson’s electric motorcycle arm choosing the Taiwanese manufacturer as a strategic partner – and the DT X360 is yet another shining example of its ingenuity.”

The DT X360 is now on sale at Kymco scooter dealers nationally. To find your local Kymco dealer, visit www.kymco.com.au/dealers-scooter.

You might like the Kymco Like scooter

Taiwan manufacturer Kymco has introduced an S model of its likeable Like 150 scooter to Australia for the very likeable price of $4490.

That’s $500 less than the R version because it deletes the top box and carrier. It comes with a three-year warranty.

The Like 150 S is yet another strangely named scooter, but certainly not the strangest.

How about the Zip, Fly, Burgman, Buddy, Babydoll, Mio, Movie, People, Ruckus, Bet & Win, Majesty, Agility, Zuma and Exciting!

Is it any wonder motorcyclists poke fun at scooter riders when their machines have such silly names?

Mind you, motorcyclists can’t scoff when they are riding bikes with names like Harley’s Fat Boy or Fat Bob, or Suzuki’s Gladius, or Aprilia Shiver.

The Kymco Like 150 S is based on the Like 150 R, but has a more streamlined dash, slimmer headlight, new pillion grabrail, new front vent, new muffler cover and black piping, forks, front vent, headlight bezel and mirrors.

It is powered by the same 9.9kW (13.3hp) four-valve fuel-injected engine which is now smoother and quieter thanks to recent refinements such as helical gears in the CVT twist-and-go transmission.

The Like 150 S also gets chassis updates from the Like line-up, including a bi-beam frame and repositioned fuel tank to lower the centre of gravity.

It features telescopic forks, twin preload-adjustable shock absorbers, light-weight 12-inch wheels and dual channel Bosch anti-lock braking.Kymco Like 150 S

Kymco expand scooter range with new Like 150 S

2021 Kymco Like 150 S

Based on the popular Like 150 R, an Aussie favourite thanks to its compelling integration of retro syling bit with modern convenience and performance, the Like 150 S not only continues the classic and practical theme but also adds extra sport and agility into the scooter equation.

2021 Kymco Like 150 S

This new point of reference for the Like 150 S is reflected in a more streamlined dash, slimmer headlight, new pillion grabrail, new front vent and new muffler cover. In addition, black (piping, forks, front vent, headlight bezel, mirrors) has become the more dominant trim compared to chrome and silver.

2021 Kymco Like 150 S

The Like 150 S is now available in an eye-catching orange livery for $4490 plus on-road costs, which includes Kymco’s three-year factory warranty. The Like 150 R retails for $4990 plus on-road costs.

150cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke SOHC single-cylinder

The vibrant new look of the Like 150 S is underpinned by a 9.9 kW (13.3 hp) four-valve fuel-injected engine – still the most powerful in class – which is now smoother and quieter than ever thanks to recent refinements like using helical gears in the CVT twist-and-go transmission.

The Like 150 S also takes advantage of chassis updates across the Like line-up, including the adoption of a bi-beam frame and repositioning of the fuel tank to lower the centre of gravity. The Like 150 S is also 5kg lighter than the Like 150 R, too, thanks to the absence of a carrier and top box.

Traditional telescopic forks and twin preload-adjustable shock absorbers look after suspension duties, while high-rigidity and light-weight 12-inch wheels contribute to the Like’s agile handling.

12-inch rims

The Like 150 S is fitted with dual channel Bosch anti-lock braking, and it has ample under seat storage and a glove box compartment.

Kymco Downtown 350i TCS Is Now Available

Perfect for, You Guessed it, Downtown

Kymco has updated the D0wntwon 350i TCS. The bike is now available in Australia. It features Euro 4, traction control, and Kymco’s Noodoe Navigation system.

The scooter has been a good seller for the last decade or so. The company has sold around 100,000 units so far across 40 different countries. This model features 321cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine and about 29 hp.

“The Downtown 350i has proven popular across the world for its ability to be many things to many people – namely its ability to combine agility, comfort, and versatility with safety and technology,” said Michael Poynton, Kymco Australia Director. “The second-generation Downtown 350i ups that ante without question, and it’s backed by KYMCO’s industry-leading three-year factory warranty and network of 67 dealers Australia wide.”

Kymco Has a New Adventure Scooter – The DT X360

“Do a 360!”

Taiwanese scooter manufacturer, Kymco, just introduced a ton of newly updated scooters to the market along with their first adventure scooter: the DT X360.

At first glance, – I’m just going to put this out there – it comes nowhere near close to being as cool as the new Honda X-ADV (Seriously, Honda, hook me up over here). I wouldn’t particularly call this maxiscooter an “Adventure Scooter”, but there sure is some offroad potential with the vehicle.

The most notable ‘offroad’ features found on this scooter would be the adventure beak and the semi-knobbed tires.

The scooter features a 321cc thumper producing 28.2 ponies and 22 lb-ft of torque, has a seat height of 31.5 inches, LED lighting all around, a mega-sized storage compartment (as most scooters do, but this one, in particular, can hold two full-size helmets with room to spare), keyless ignition and a sizable LED full-color display with USB ports ready at the sides.

Although this isn’t an off-roading beast, this will be a great option for riders living in countries with fewer paved roads and lots of dirt pathways. It would be great to see Kymco add a few more features to make it more off-road friendly; perhaps a slightly upgraded suspension to provide riders with some slightly extra clearance (in the photos it looks as though it’s about standard scooter height).

Kymco Has an X-ADV of Its Own

Want to Scoot Off-Road?

Honda has its X-ADV in certain markets and its new ADV-150 in others. And that seems to have kickstarted some other bike manufacturers to start doing the same kinds of bikes. Notably, Kymco.

The company showcased an adventure scooter not long ago as a concept (shown above) and now Kymco has released a teaser video announcing the arrival of a new scooter that fits this category.

Little is known at this time. There’s not a whole lot you can see in the teaser video either. This model is designed to get off of asphalt, though, that much is clear.

The concept that the company presented was called the CV2. It was unveiled in 2017, so Kymco has had time to refine this bike into a production model.

The new scooter will be officially unveiled on the 26th, so we won’t have to wait long to see what this new scooter is all about.

KYMCO add two Agility scooters

KYMCO Australia have released two new Agility models as scooters take another dive in the Australian market.

The new models are the Agility City 125i 16+ at $3290 (plus on-road costs) and includes a top case, plus the Agility 300i at $6490.

Both models feature the larger 16-inch front wheel to avoid being bumped out of line over city potholes.

They arrive as scooter sales have dipped 12.8% in the second quarter following a 14.1% drop in the first quarter after a promising rise of 5.6% last year.

KYMCO Australia spokesman Michael Poynton says their sales were “flat” over the past two quarters.

“We saw a drop-off in our entry-level models, commonly used for food delivery, however an increase in our mid-range commuting models,” he says.
