2025 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT SE Preview, Returning Models

For 2025, the Honda Rebel 1100 platform adds a fifth trim version to its lineup: the premium-level Honda Rebel 1100 DCT SE, equipped with extra features and accessories as standard. Additionally, all Rebel 1100s receive a few improvements for 2025. Also included in this announcement are seven returning models with 2025 pricing and colors.

Changes to all Rebel 1100 trim options include a revised riding position and a plusher seat, with the cushion being 10mm thicker for more comfort on longer rides. The handlebar grips are now 12mm (about a half inch) higher and 28mm (about 1 inch) farther back, and the footpegs are 50mm (nearly 2 inches) farther forward. Its liquid-cooled 1,083cc parallel-Twin remains unchanged.

2025 Honda Rebel 1100 Display — The Honda Rebel 1100 instrumentation allows phone connectivity through the RoadSync app.

The Honda Rebel 1100 also becomes the first U.S. Honda model equipped with RoadSync, which is standard on all trim levels. RoadSync is compatible with iOS and Android and connects the bike to the Honda RoadSync app to enable navigation, listening to music, checking the local weather forecast, and more.

Also new for all trim levels is a USB socket near the handlebar and a new visor that shields the LCD display from the sun for improved visibility.

The Honda Rebel 1100 DCT SE is a new trim option that comes with fork boots, handlebar-end mirrors, a color-matched headlight cowl, a short front fender, and a special seat.

The 2025 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT SE will be available in Flare Orange Metallic with an MSRP of $11,099. The Rebel 1100 DCT ($10,299) and Rebel 1100 ($9,599) will be available in Matte Black Metallic or Pearl Hawkeye Blue. The Rebel 1100T DCT ($11,499) and Rebel 1100T ($10,799) will be available in Gray Metallic. All Rebel 1100 options will arrive in dealerships starting in December 2024.

2025 Honda Fury

Returning for 2025 is the Honda Fury with its distinctive design, low-slung riding position, and stretched wheelbase. This chopper-inspired cruiser is powered by a 1,312cc V-Twin, and it features a chrome exhaust, a shaft final drive, a 5-speed transmission, a long and slim 3.4-gallon fuel tank, and an extra wide rear tire.

The 2025 Honda Fury will be available in Adventure Green with an MSRP of $11,499, and it’ll begin arriving in dealerships in November 2024.

2025 Honda Shadow Phantom

The Shadow Phantom returns unchanged for 2025 after stylistic changes last year, including the two-tone fuel tank and redesigned handlebar and handlebar clamps, headlight cover, air-cleaner cover, instruments, turnsignals, and machine-cut cylinder-head fins.

The Shadow Phantom is powered by a liquid-cooled 745cc V-Twin, and it has a 5-speed transmission and a shaft final drive. It also features bobber-inspired styling with blacked-out and matte finishes, minimalist front and rear fenders, fork gaiters, and a low 25.6-inch seat height.

The 2025 Honda Shadow Phantom will be available in Deep Pearl Gray or Flare Orange Metallic with an MSRP of $8,699. It will arrive in dealerships starting in November 2024.

2025 Honda Africa Twin

The Honda Africa Twin returns unchanged for 2025. This adventure bike will be available in standard or Adventure Sport options, both of which will be available with either a manual transmission or a dual-clutch transmission.

The Africa Twin is powered by a water-cooled 1,084cc parallel-Twin. The standard Honda Africa Twin features a 5.0-gallon fuel tank, 21-inch front wheel, 18-inch rear wheel, suspension travel of 9.0 inches up front and 8.7 inches in the rear, and a wet weight of 510 lb.

The touring-focused Adventure Sport ES option increases fuel capacity to 6.6 gallons and exchanges the 21-inch front wheel for a 19-inch front wheel, with 8.3 inches of travel up front and 7.9 inches of travel in the rear. The Adventure Sport ES option weighs 535 lb. This version also includes Showa Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment with suspension that automatically adjusts to conditions.

On both versions, the DCT option adds about 25 lb. Both options also feature a 6.5-inch TFT touchscreen display and a smaller LCD screen. The TFT comes with three display arrangements and background colors and is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The 2025 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES is available in Pearl White, with the DCT version priced at $18,399 and the manual version costing $17,599. The standard Africa Twin is available in Matte Black Metallic, with DCT at $15,599 and with manual at $14,799. The Africa Twin will arrive in dealerships in December 2024.

2025 Honda NX500

Honda’s smaller ADV for entry-level adventure riders or those looking for a compact commuter or weekend touring bike was originally launched in 2013 as the CB500X and is powered by a liquid-cooled 471cc parallel-Twin. It features a slim seat with a height of 32.8 inches, an upright riding position, and 7.1 inches of ground clearance. A 41mm Showa SFF-BP fork with 5.2 inches of travel and a single shock with 5.3 inches of travel and five-step preload adjustment provide suspension. Wet weight is 432 lb.

The 2025 Honda NX500 will be available in Pearl White with an MSRP of $7,399, and it’ll arrive in dealerships in December 2024.

2025 Honda XR650L

The Honda XR650L dual-sport has a storied racing pedigree, earning wins and podium finishes in the desert and especially Baja. It’s powered by an air-cooled 644cc single-cylinder engine and has a semi-double-cradle steel frame with a 43mm Showa fork and a Pro-Link rear suspension unit. It has a 21-inch front and an 18-inch rear wheel, lightweight spoked rims, a motocross-style seat, large fenders, a tubular engine guard, and flex-mounted turnsignals. Ground clearance is 13.0 inches, fuel capacity is 2.8 gallons, and wet weight is 346 lb.

The 2025 Honda XR650L will be available in White with an MSRP of $6,999, and it’ll arrive in dealerships in January 2025.

2025 Honda CBR500R

The Honda CBR500R sportbike takes styling cues from Honda’s flagship CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP while remaining an affordable and reliable midsized option. It’s powered by a liquid-cooled 471cc parallel-Twin. It has a steel diamond-tube mainframe, a 41mm inverted Showa SFF-BP fork with 4.7 inches of travel, and a shock with five-step preload adjustment and 4.7 inches of travel. Dual 296mm petal-style discs and Nissin radial-mounted 4-piston calipers slow things down up front. The CBR500R’s wet weight is 421 lb, the fuel tank holds 4.5 gallons, and seat height is 31.1 inches.

The 2025 Honda CBR500R will be available in Grand Prix Red with an MSRP of $7,399, and it’ll arrive in dealerships in December 2024.

2025 Honda CB500F

This naked bike shares its engine, frame, suspension, and brakes with the CBR500R but features streetfighter-inspired styling and ergonomics. Replacing the CBR500R’s clip-ons is a tapered handlebar, and the riding position is more upright and neutral. Both bikes have a 5-inch TFT display with three display options. The CB500F has a wet weight of 414 lb, 7 lb less than the faired CBR500R.

The 2025 Honda CB500F will be available in Matte Black Metallic with an MSRP of $6,899, and it’ll arrive in dealerships in December 2024.

2024 Honda Africa Twin Review | First Look

2024 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES with manual transmission

American Honda has announced the return of its flagship Africa Twin adventure lineup, which has been updated for the new model year. The 2024 Honda Africa Twin will be available in in four variants: the off-road focused Africa Twin and the more on-road focused Adventure Sports ES, both of which will be offered in either a manual transmission or Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) model. The DCT models feature automatic shifting or the option to use paddle shifters, as well as four settings: Drive, Sport 1, Sport 2, and Sport 3.

“The Africa Twin is a mainstay of Honda’s adventure lineup, and we’re happy to bring this platform update to our customers for 2024,” said Brandon Wilson, manager of Racing and Experiential Marketing at American Honda. “With the recent addition of the midsize Transalp, and now this updated Africa Twin, it’s clear that Honda is committed to the adventure category, and to delivering capable machines to fuel enthusiasts’ desire to explore.”

Both the Honda Africa Twin and Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES are powered by a liquid-cooled 1,083 Unicam SOHC parallel-Twin with 4 valves per cylinder and 270-degree crank mated to a 6-speed gearbox and chain final drive. The engine’s intake/exhaust has been redesigned, and compression has been increased to 10.5:1.

Both bikes also feature cruise control and throttle-by-wire with seven levels of Honda Selectable Torque Control and four power delivery modes: Tour, Urban, Gravel, and user-programmable. The Africa Twins have a new five-position windscreen, tubeless tires, and a revised fairing design, and the Adventure Sports ES features heated grips.

Stopping power remains the same on both bikes, with dual 4-piston calipers biting 310mm front discs and a 2-piston caliper and 256mm disc in the rear. Both models have switchable cornering ABS with two modes: on-road or off-road.

For suspension, the Africa Twin still has a 45mm inverted telescopic fork and Pro-Link monoshock, but travel has been reduced to 8.0 inches in front and 8.7 in the back (down from 9.1/8.7, front/rear on the 2022 Africa Twin and Adventure Sports ES). The seat height remains at 34.3 inches for the standard position, with a low position of 33.5 inches. The Africa Twin still rides on 21-inch/18-inch front/rear wheels, and with its 5-gallon tank full, it has a wet weight of 510 lb or 535 lb for DCT.

The Adventure Sports ES also has a 45mm inverted telescopic fork and Pro-Link monoshock, both now with electronic adjustment offering five suspension damper settings: hard, medium, soft, and off-road, as well as a customizable “user” setting. Travel has been reduced to 7.3 inches/7.9 inches, front/back. Seat height has also been lowered to 33.7 inches for the standard position and 32.9 inches for the low position. The Adventure Sports ES has a new 19-inch front wheel (still 18 inches in the rear), a 6.6-gallon tank, and a wet weight of 535 lb or 559 lb for DCT.

The Africa Twins feature a 6.5-inch touch-panel LCD multi-information dash with three display options and compatibility with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth.

The 2024 Africa Twin will come in Grand Prix Red starting at $14,799 for the manual transmission and $15,599 for the DCT. The Adventure Sports ES will come in Pearl White starting at $17,599 for the manual transmission and $18,399 for the DCT. Both bikes will be available in May.

New look for 2022 Africa Twin along with DCT refinements

2022 Honda Africa Twin & Africa Twin Adventure Sports

Honda have taken the covers off the 2022 Africa Twin, with the standard variant now featuring a rear carrier rack as standard and now presented in new colours and graphics.

The Adventure Sports variant receives some additional updates, with the DCT equipped versions benefiting from further refinements to the Dual-Clutch Transmission settings, a shorter adjustable five-position screen and new ‘Cracked Terrain’ graphics. On the top of the line DCT ES version, Showa Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment is also standard.

Honda’s exclusive six-speed DCT system runs three modes, with MT offering full manual control, D for automatic city and highway riding for fuel efficiency, while S is designed for sporty riding, with the ECU holding gears longer between up-shifts, as well as down-shifting more aggressively for extra engine braking.

Updates to the DCT focus on first and second gear settings

The changes for 2022 have seen first and second gear settings tailored to smoother low-speed handling, with a focus on very low speeds and standing starts.

The Showa Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment or Showa EERA meanwhile, offers tailored damping front and rear, with spring pre-load to suit load and riding conditions. This can be controlled via four settings, for different riding conditions.

Soft offers low damping force and a focus on smoothness, with Hard running the highest damping force. Mid is an all-round setting, while Off-Road raises fork damping forces as stroke speed rises, while also running higher damping settings on the rear shock.

The rear shock can also have the spring pre-load adjusted electronically while stationary, with setups for solo riding, solo with luggage, two-up riding and two up with luggage. For those who like to dial their system in specifically to their own needs, there’s also a User option which allows fine tuning of damping front and rear with 24-points of rear spring preload.

The updates join the existing Africa Twin’s liquid-cooled 1084 cc SOHC eight-valve parallel-twin, backed by a Bosch six-axis IMU, which is integrated into the four power modes, three levels of engine braking, seven-level Honda Selectable Torque Control, and cornering ABS, with an off-road setting. Plus three levels of wheelie control and rear lift control. These are accessed via four preset riding modes – Tour, Urban, Gravel and Off-Road, with two modifiable modes.

Peak power is claimed at 75 kW, with 105Nm peak torque. The engine was significantly updated previously in the 2020 model year along with a boost in capacity.

A 6.5 inch TFT touchscreen is also features, with multi-information display, USB and BT connectivity as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Fuel capacity on the standard Africa Twin is 18.8 L, while on the Adventure Sports variants that increases to 24.8 L, with seat height across all models 870 mm, with a 850 mm low setting available.

The frame is a steel semi-double cradle frame, also redesigned in 2020, mated to a aluminium sub-frame, with CRF450R-style swingarm also in aluminium. Showa provide 45 mm forks across all models, with that upgraded to the Showa EERA on the top model, with a Showa monoshock, also upgraded to an EERA unit on the ES version.

Wheels are a 21 x 2.15 wire-spoke front and 18 x 4.00 wire-spoke rear, both with aluminium rims, while brakes are dual four-piston radial calipers on 310 mm wave rotors on the front and a 256 mm wave rotor with single-piston caliper on the rear.

The entire 2022 Honda Africa Twin range is due to arrive in Q4 of 2021, with the standard Africa Twin to be available for $20,999 MLP, in either Pearl Glare White, Grand Prix Red. The Africa Twin Adventure Sports will be $24,699 MLP in Pearl Glare White or Matte Ballistic Black, while the Adventure Sports DCT arrives from $25,649 MLP in Pearl Glare White, with the top of the line Adventure Sports DCT ES $27,799 MLP and also Pearl Glare White.

Bespoke Rallies Hosts 4,000 Mile Homage to Original “Dakar Rally”

Three weeks, 20 motorcycles, and a whole lot of landmass to cover.

Bespoke Rallies is offering the experience of a lifetime with their 2022 Dakar Enduro Rally, set to begin February 28, 2022.

The words ‘Dakar Rally’ come with a huge following…and not a little risk. Not to be confused with the original (a blistering 6,200-mile endurance rally founded in 1977, with a bike category installed in 1979), Bespoke’s rally is more of a tour-style experience open to the masses.

It will also be the first rally to maintain as much of the original Dakar route possible, given that 2008 saw the original rally route canceled due to security threats from Mauritania.

Voted as the world’s most iconic enduro event, the Dakar Rally, or “The Dakar,” had many routes pre-2008 – the most famous being the 9,500 miles run in 1986 from Paris, France, to Dakar, Senegal. Today, Bespoke Rallies plans a very similar route, with a starting point in the hills of Britain and a finish line in Dakar.

It’s enough to get any moto head to nerd out – and who wouldn’t with giants like the Yamaha Tenere & Honda Africa Twin owing their birth to this monument of moto and auto history.

At present, the official Dakar Rally is held almost exclusively in Saudi Arabia, with no less risk to the competitors – and their wallets.

Bespoke has commented that the Dakar Enduro Rally will be more laid-back than its predecessor.

“Bespoke Rallies’ Dakar Enduro Rally takes its inspiration from this iconic endurance event, but at an altogether more manageable pace…we will be running in the wheel tracks of the original event wherever possible, using some of the finest roads of the classic route while avoiding the dune bashing of the more extreme sections.”

Dust down and gear up for the ride of the year, gents.

And bring some deodorant – you’re going to need it.

The manufacturing process is always an amazing thing to bear witness to. Modern technology and innovation have complimented the process and turned it into an amazing symphony of perfect systems and seamless integration.

I always enjoy watching the building process of literally anything and everything – I’m sure we all do. How many hours have we all accumulatively invested in watching ‘How It’s Made’ on a lazy Sunday afternoon?

In this video, AutoMoto takes us into a Japanese Honda assembly line for an inside look into the 2020 Africa Twin manufacturing process. The video is split into three sections: engine assembly, body assembly, and final inspection/testing.

Honda has factories all over the world. You wan watch manufacturing processes on youtube at featuring different shops across the globe. Keep in mind, Honda is also one of the biggest global car builders in modern history so their process for building bikes has greatly benefited from their experience in the automotive industry.

The 2020 Honda Africa Twin is a dual-sport motorcycle designed to go anywhere. It’s roots take place in the dangerous Dakar Rally, so the bike is really designed to withstand the abuse that comes from riding it like a bat-out-of-hell. This is the main reason why it is important they take care when building them at the factory, as no oversight can be left unattended.

It features a fly-by-wire 1084cc engine producing around 100 horsepower featuring a 6-speed transmission for low-end gearing when taking it through the mud or sand. With a base MSRP: $14,399 – a small tag for a vehicle that can take you quite literally anywhere on earth – you could very well be unknowlingly buying one of the very bikes being built in this video.
