A disappointed Hunter Lawrence has described his performance at Southwick’s sixth round of Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross as one of the worst days of his career, despite a promising start at the demanding sand circuit.
The Geico Honda ace qualified in P9, admitting he experienced a positive feeling in the early stages of proceedings, however went onto lodge a 9-13 results sheet for 11th overall.
The result, far from his expectation, has pushed him seventh in the championship rankings, just five points shy of the top five.
“Tough pill to take at Southwick this weekend,” said Lawrence. “I went from feeling really good in the opening part of the day and then having one of the worst days of my career in the second part of the day. I’m looking forward to RedBud and putting this weekend behind us. We’ll keep building and moving forward.”
The Pro Motocross series returns to action this weekend at the iconic RedBud circuit in Michigan for round seven of the 12-stop tour.
