Monster Energy Kawasaki ace anticipating birth of first child this weekend.
The expected arrival of Joey Savatgy’s first child this weekend has prompted him to withdraw from the 11th round of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Budds Creek.
The 450MX rookie, who will depart Monster Energy Kawasaki at the conclusion of the season, made the announcement today via social media, while he’s expected to make a return for the final round at Ironman.
“Well it’s a tough decision, but due to the fact that my child is expected this weekend, I’ve made the decision to stay home,” Savatgy explained. “I love racing and I’ve been making forward progress lately, but my family comes first and I hope you guys understand.”
The number 17 is currently ranked 12th in the championship standings after missing the opening rounds of the series with injury. Savatgy has been linked to a deal JGRMX Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing in 2020.
