ASBK heading to Western Australia in May 2020 alongside auto racing series.
Barbagallo Raceway in Perth has been named as the venue that the Motul Pirelli Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) will feature at alongside the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship in 2020.
The Pirtek Perth SuperNight, scheduled for 15-17 May 2020, will offer up a day/night schedule, while marking the return of ASBK in Western Australia following a four-year hiatus.
It was revealed in August that the ASBK would support the Supercars program at a then to be determined venue, the two championships running alongside each other most previously in 2013.
“Combining two championship events such as Supercars and ASBK is an exciting endeavour and requires a great deal of coordination,” said Motorcycling Australia CEO Peter Doyle.
“I’d like to thank all those who helped bring it together and I’m really looking forward to seeing all the action in WA next year.
“The Barbagallo Wanneroo circuit has always been well-attended for both two and four-wheeled motorsport events, Western Australia is a highly important region for Motorcycling Australia, the motorcycle industry and ASBK partners, so it’s great to bring the nation’s fastest riders back to WA in front of a big and enthusiastic audience of race fans.”
Supercars CEO Sean Seamer added: “It’s great to be doing an event with the ASBK championship. We look forward to working with them in Perth to put on an amazing show for fans of both two and four-wheels.”
Further details on the event are expected to be released in the early stages of 2020.
