***MOTOSTARS ANNOUNCE 2017 RACING SERIES*** Grassroots Motorcycling will gain a major boost in Australia following the announcement that MotoStars will add a 6 round racing series to their rapidly expanding training and coaching calendar in 2017. Due to begin in April, the competition will attract some of Australia’s best, brightest and potential future stars, racing on short course road racing circuits and Go Kart tracks across 3 states- New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. The events will cater for Junior Road Racing, Senior Road Racing as well as Supermoto Racing- combining the two, separate, disciplines at each meeting. The 2-day format will promote “come and try” entries, training, coaching and accreditation on Saturdays and move into qualifying and races on Sundays. MotoStars also plan to promote the return of camping at their events, adding a social element on Saturday evenings- perfect for families and even “Father & Son” racers. Commenting on this latest development, MotoStars founder Damian Cudlin explained his reasons for creating this series and his hopes for the championship’s first year. “The aim with MotoStars is to establish an exciting, affordable and accessible way to go road racing and to lay a stepping stone for the future generation of Aussie Racers.” Cudlin explained. “Essentially the idea is to use smaller tracks and affordable motorcycles, which are great for the kids, and recreational racers, and we’ve added some fantastic new venues to this calendar. We have also included Supermoto to the program, which is growing again in Australia and other parts of the world, including Asia. This series will give riders a multi-round series to race in here at home.” “The biggest thing we can offer to riders though is track time. We won’t be relying on any other series or running as a support class, which can often mean a 5 lap race during the lunch break. MotoStars will be a stand-alone series, which gives riders heaps of track time and heaps of racing- and that’s what everyone wants.” Cudlin added.
