Back to the tale of the stopwatch, and Joel Kelso (CIP Green Power) looked like he might top his first ever Moto3™ session on home soil, his 1:39.917 being the fastest lap when the chequered flag came out. However, he was bettered by Sergio Garcia (Gaviota GASGAS Aspar Team) on a 1:39.876, who was in turn usurped by fellow title contender Dennis Foggia (Leopard Racing) on a 1:39.830, who was himself then pipped by Moreira. That was the top four all-told, with Suzuki’s 1:40.250 just before his crash good enough for fifth.
