Retired MotoGP Legend returning for Spanish round in June.
Five-time world champion Jorge Lorenzo will make his return to racing at Catalan grand prix on 7 June in a wildcard appearance, his first race since retiring at the end of last season.
The Spaniard signed with Yamaha Factory Racing as a test rider at the beginning of 2020 and completed two-days of testing at the Sepang shakedown and official tests in February. After successful runs, both parties have taken the decision for the number 99 to be back on a YZR-M1 during a race weekend – the Spaniard’s home race in Barcelona.
“After some weeks thinking about it, yesterday I decided I will compete at the Catalan GP,” Lorenzo stated. “I’m really looking forward to it and I’ll see you all there.”
Lorenzo will continue his test duties throughout the year for the factory Yamaha squad.
