KTM factory visit adds ‘motivation’ for Zarco ahead of Austrian GP

Home grand prix for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing this weekend.
A visit to KTM’s factory in Austria has provided ‘extra motivation’ for Johann Zarco ahead of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s home grand prix this weekend at the Red Bull Ring.
Zarco scored his first front row start aboard the KTM at Brno last Sunday, however he was unable to convert the qualifying time into a strong race result, ultimately crossing the line in P14.
The Frenchman has so far experienced a difficult campaign in his maiden season with the Austrian manufacturer, and he’s hoping to turn his fortunes around with the support of the factory at its home round.
“I’m feeling happy at the moment, it’s always nice to come here to the factory,” Zarco explained. “As a rider and loving the mechanical side of it, it’s always nice.
“And it gives you some extra motivation, because when you see this place and everyone working here, you feel maybe it’s possible to do even better. So I’m feeling good and I cross my fingers we’ll have a good weekend.”
Zarco is currently ranked 17th in the championship standings, while his Red Bull KTM Factory Racing teammate Pol Espargaro is situated 10th in the points rankings.
