Official MO videographer Sean Matic’s Insta360 cameras have become part of every healthy MO video breakfast (Sean tested the Insta X2 here). When the Insta people reached out with some fantastic Insta360 footage of Jonathan Rea aboard his Kawasaki World Superbike, it was our duty to share. JR secured a victory just last Saturday in Portimao, and there’s also a lap of teammate Sam Lowes from Jerez.
The Insta persons had an ulterior motive, though, wanting us to announce:
Insta360 Named Exclusive Action Camera of Kawasaki Racing Team for WorldSBK 2022 Season
Insta360 has been named a Sportive and Title Race Partner for the Kawasaki Racing Team for the WorldSBK 2022 season. As the exclusive action cameras for the season, Insta360 cameras will capture thrilling footage of the road racing championship for fans around the world.
The Kawasaki team is the premiere Superbike squad in the world, winning seven of the last nine World Championships. Jonathan Rea, six-time WorldSBK champion, and Alex Lowes, are the team riders for the 2022 season. In the opening round of the season this past weekend at Motorland Aragon, Rea took his KRT Ninja ZX-10RR to victory in the Saturday race and secured second place in both the Superpole Race and Race Two on Sunday.
With the partnership, Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes also join Team Insta360 as brand ambassadors. Each of Insta360’s leading action cameras will be mounted on the riders’ bikes throughout the season, including the interchangeable lens action cam ONE RS, the pocket 360 action cam ONE X2 and the 27-gram tiny action cam GO 2. The cameras will give fans never-before-seen views of the riders as they put their skills to the test on the world’s stage this year.
“Racing is all about pushing things to the limit, but I am not only a racer, I also enjoy the storytelling side of racing. I put a lot of effort into sharing my life and racing journey for my fans, and that’s why I love Insta360 cameras—they really help me and my filmmakers take my videos to the next level,” said Jonathan Rea. “We’re thrilled to support the Kawasaki Racing Team in their journey to claim the World Championship title yet again this year. Their passion for excellence is a perfect match with the ‘Think bold’ attitude we champion at Insta360,” said Max Richter, Vice President of Marketing at Insta360.
