CDR Yamaha Monster Energy duo dominate round seven of the MX Nationals.
CDR Yamaha Monster Energy owner Craig Dack has praised team duo Luke Clout and Kirk Gibbs for their dominant performances at Maitland’s Pirelli MX Nationals last weekend, the pair finishing first and second respectively on the overall podium.
New South Welshman Clout put his raw speed on display in the opening two sprint races, claiming victory in each to be considered the moto one victor on the combined results sheet, as a second place finish in the final outing granted him the overall win and championship points lead.
Meanwhile Gibbs, out of the championship chase after injury at Murray Bridge’s double-header, was ranked third outright in the pair of sprint motos before charging to commanding victory in race three, much to the delight of Dack.
“I’m still buzzing from the weekend and how good the riders and team did on the weekend,” Dack commented. “We have constantly been talking about and working on minimising our mistakes as this championship is so tight and the first one to blink will lose it.
“So to see that plan become a reality on the weekend and for Luke and Kirk to have a 1-2 for the day and between the both of them win all three motos was a proud moment for myself and the team. The riders did a great job on the track while the boys prepared the bikes perfectly and we executed our plan.
“Luke now has the championship lead while Kirk has jumped to fourth after missing a round and both riders got the confidence boost they needed heading into the final three rounds.”
The MX Nationals resumes next week at Moree in New South Wales for round eight of the series.
