The Tissot Aragon Round’s final day of action kicked off with Sunday Warm Up at MotorLand Aragon for the 2024 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship field. After a dramatic Saturday, Sunday promises to bring even more and it was Alex Lowes (Kawasaki Racing Team WorldSBK) who started the last day of the weekend on top ahead a pack of Ducatis.
Hitting the top on his final flying lap, Alex Lowes was looking good straight away, ahead of Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati), as both target the rostrum for the first time in the Tissot Aragon Round weekend. Bouncing back after his Saturday Race 1 mechanical issue, Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) was P3 in Warm Up ahead of Michael Ruben Rinaldi (Team Motocorsa Racing), who made it three Ducatis in the top four. Top BMW honours went to Michael van der Mark (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team), with the #60 just less than seven tenths adrift of Lowes.
An impressive start to the morning for Honda welcomed Xavi Vierge (Team HRC) into P6 but it was a strong opening session of Sunday for Jonathan Rea (Pata Prometeon Yamaha), who led the timesheets at various points throughout the ten-minute session before finishing seventh. Cremona triple winner Danilo Petrucci (Barni Spark Racing Team) was eighth, whilst Bonovo Action BMW duo Scott Redding and Garrett Gerloff completed the top ten. Race 1 winner Andrea Iannone (Team GoEleven) was 13th whilst P2 finisher from Saturday and Championship leader Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) was only 15th but eased his way into the final day of the weekend.
