In a closely fought contest, Aegerter upped his game in the fourth and final sector to find an extra hundredth to give him the edge over his rivals going into Saturday morning’s FP3 session. Aldeguer had occupied top spot on the timesheets for the majority of the session, with the 16-year-old initially moving two-tenths clear of his rivals after his fourth lap, only to lose out to his Swiss counterpart in the closing stages. Granado, who topped the morning session, remains in contention and is just 0.190s off the top.
