It’s all to play for as MotoGP™ Fantasy turns to an unpredictable Assen TT with three riders hunting the title crown
The European triple header is almost over and the last opportunity for the MotoGP™ riders to score some big points before the summer break. The Championship battle is hotting up between the top 3, and with the unpredictability of the Assen TT, there’s plenty to consider ahead of MotoGP™ Fantasy at the Dutch Grand Prix!
Who made the Fantasy Dream Team in Germany?
It was utter domination from Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) last weekend at the Sachsenring, as he took his GP23 to the top taking victory in both the Tissot Sprint and the German Grand Prix. The Spaniard bagged more Fantasy points than any other rider with a clean sweep securing 52.5 points.
Breathing down the neck of the Prima Pramac man was his championship rival Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team). The Italian finished a close 2nd to his Ducati counterpart, bagging himself the 2nd spot in the Fantasy Dream Team after coming away from Germany with 40 Fantasy points.
Joining the two Golden riders in the Dream Team was Johann Zarco (Prima Pramac Racing). The Prima Pramac team enjoyed a weekend filled with success at the Sachsenring, as the Frenchman bagged a top 5 in the Tisssot Sprint followed by an important podium finish in the Grand Prix. This earned Zarco 35.5 Fantasy points and a place as a silver rider in the Germany Fantasy Dream Team.
Luca Marini (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) made it a Ducati lock-out in the Dream Team bagging 26.5 points after finishing 4th and 5th in the Tissot Sprint and the Grand Prix respectively. This consolidated the inevitable, seeing Ducati as the top constructor with Prima Pramac Racing taking teams honours in MotoGP™ Fantasy.
Who will conquer the Assen TT?
As attentions turn to the Motul TT Assen, there’s plenty to consider in the search for the MotoGP™ Fantasy Dream Team. Gamers have the opportunity to make two changes to their team in hopes of forming the dream lineup for the iconic Assen circuit.
Francesco Bagnaia is always a safe bet at any circuit on the MotoGP™ calendar. The Italian and the Ducati have consistently proved themselves as the perfect combination, and on a fine run of form, you get plenty of bang for your buck at 4.2M. The Champion goes into the weekend favourite, having taken victory in Assen in 2022.
One rider who will be eager to dethrone the Champion and is currently riding the crest of a wave is Jorge Martin. Priced 3.2M the Spaniard got the better of Bagnaia twice at the Sachsenring, and with only 16 points between him and the Italian in the title race, Martin will won’t be settling for anything other than the top step.
Marco Bezzecchi (Mooney VR46 Racing Team) cannot be discounted either. Ducati’s hot prospect might have slipped back to 3rd in the standings, but the youngster heads into the weekend with fire in his belly as he returns to the very circuit that saw him claim his debut MotoGP™ podium just one year ago. Joining Martin with a 3.2M price tag, there’s plenty to play for between Ducati’s golden trio.
The two Red Bull KTM Factory Racing riders of Brad Binder and Jack Miller cannot be discounted either, and priced at 3.1M and 2.4M could be strong choices for your MotoGP™ Fantasy team. Both riders have shown strong form in 2023, and with the unpredictability which Assen always entails could very well have a say in the battle of victory.
Equally, the Aprilias can never be discounted, and with the fast-flowing nature of the Assen circuit suiting the bike’s characteristics, Maverick Viñales and Aleix Espargaro could very well be in the mix when the lights go out.
Priced at just 1.5M, Viñales has already shown strong form at the TT Circuit Assen picking up a podium with Aprilia just one year ago. At 2.6M, Espargaro equally showed a strong pace in an epic 2022 display seeing him drop down the order after an incident with Fabio Quartararo (Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™) forced him to carve his way through the field to P4.
Where to look for manufacturer glory?
All the signs point to Ducati as the manufacturer to beat ahead of Assen. With more bikes on the grid than anyone else and a plethora of fast riders onboard them, at 3.1M the Bologna bullets guarantee success for your MotoGP™ Fantasy Team. However, at just 2.3M Aprilia are a strong option too with KTM also never to be discounted at 3.1M.
With everything to play for, history beckons for MotoGP™ at what promises to be an unforgettable weekend in Assen. Make sure to join in on all the MotoGP™ Fantasy action throughout the weekend, and ensure you don’t miss a thing with the action underway from Friday, 23rd June on motogp.com
