It was a drama-free session until the final couple of minutes, with a crash for Alex Marquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP™) at Turn 1 then bringing out the first yellows, rider ok. There was then a somewhat rare fall for Maverick Viñales (Aprilia Racing) at Turn 6, but the number 12 was able to get back on and still finished the session in fourth – just behind Miguel Oliveira (CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP™ Team).
