Into Q2 and times were coming thick and fast right from the get-go, with the Dynavolt Intact GP riders of Marcel Schrötter and Tom Lüthi who were pushing hard at the front, making it a true teammate tussle. In the end however, one late flying lap from Schrötter put him on pole position, the first German rider to take pole at Mugello in the Intermediate class since Martin Wimmer in 1985. With Lüthi taking second, it was a Dynavolt Intact GP one-two, whilst Alex Marquez (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) in third.
