Ducati has long been a style leader in the motorcycle world, and not just for its drop-dead-gorgeous sportbikes and streetfighters. Its Diavel 1260 power cruiser has also established itself as a fashionable mount, earning multiple international design awards and serving as the platform for aesthetic concepting at prestigious events like Milan Design Week. The Italian brand seeks to keep the momentum going with its latest Diavel 1260, the 1260 S Black and Steel.
The Black and Steel is based on the Diavel “Materico” concept introduced in 2019 as part of the Beautiful Boldness/Visionary Design event. Namely in the bold use of black and yellow throughout the bike.
The Black and Steel has a bit more punch to it than the Materico, thanks to bold use of yellow on the trellis frame, wheels, and tailsection.
The intensity of the yellow is heightened by the backdrop of gloss and matte black that comprises the rest of the machine. Asymmetrical graphics add a unique flair to the bike as well.
“The Ducati Diavel 1260 family, synonymous with style, innovation, and performance, has won prestigious international design awards such as the Red Dot Award and the Good Design Award,” said Andrea Ferraresi, Ducati design director, in a company release. “The Diavel 1260 S Black and Steel is a bike that does not go unnoticed. Its asymmetrical graphics, the contrast between matte black, gray, and touches of yellow have been designed to enhance the power, design, and sportiness of this bike.”
Any enhancements to power or sportiness are purely visual though, as it retains the same internals as the standard 1260 S.
The Black and Steel Diavel 1260 S will be available starting this September with an MSRP of $24,395.
